Rainbow Carrots

I stumbled across dying yarn with Kool-Aid somewhere..

After starting classes at the yarn shop with the drop spindle, I got to thinking about that bag of raw wool discards my mother had.

So I grabbed some fluff, washed it and plunked into some straight Kool-Aid colors.

What came out looked like clown hair..
or maybe rainbow fluff??

Not having a wool cards I grabbed the next best thing..

(don't cringe)

.. the cat's brush..

which didn't to too bad.

I spun a bit of it just to see what it would be like to play with the colors.
It is pretty bright!

This little ball of yarn got tucked away with some other little practice balls until the other day when 'The Seed Savers Exchange' catalog came..

My crazy yarn matched the cover!

I think
I'll call this color pathway..

Rainbow Carrots !

No need to apologize for using the cat brush- I just bought 2 new dog brushes to use when carding bits for needle felting (I am reserving Ozzie's brush for the next Airedale). Works perfectly!
