First skein of hand spun - Part One

I started with three pieces of prepared roving purchased from the yarn shop.
Some of the roving was pre-colored
~ white, tan, and butter yellow ~
Tan and yellow pieces because I was curious to see how it would work with dying.

After some experimenting with Kool-aid coloring, Saran Wrap, the microwave,

more Kool-aid coloring,

over-dying the tan piece of roving a second time,

and spinning the poor tortured roving ..

..the spindle looked like this:

About 70 yards of single ply.

Wound into a ball ..

Love the way the colors came out!
