"Hey...did you put this here ???"
(knowing I am always dragging in bits of nature back to the house..)
Me: "What...??(first cup of coffee in hand) No..? Wowww...."

on the front porch in the empty wood bin.

Oh gosh that's really delightful.
I remember the robins who made their nest in the prop shop of the opera house where I worked. They were were very attentive parents, albeit a bit disruptive to the operations of the shop.
