Summer Sewing

I really can't sew.

Well, maybe I shouldn't say can't..

Let's just say "patterns" and I aren't friends.
Too much like geometry.

I got a C in geometry.

My mom gave me this book called The Perfect Handbag by Clare Young.
I'm in love.

No patterns.. just measurements.
Perfect for a fly-by-the-seat-0f- your-pants sewing kinda girl!

I made this from some recycled vintage fabric (floral) and an old table cloth (blue check).
It's my new bag for work.

She even shows you how to make these fun little tags for the side.
Okay.. I'm easy. Little things like TAGS make me happy!

Library Love

If you eat,

soil is your business.

Learn what good soil
looks, feels and smells like.

Take a piece of land or a garden
that has been abused
and rebuild it.

Believe in yourself.

You are only two or three
generations removed from the land.
