Chicken Luge

This would be the teams accommodations. The Coop-de-Igloo. After I dug out the run, we dug out the teams shoot..

The ladies were ready.... standing at the start... teetering at the gait... pumping for momentum...
Then, they were off... down the track...

Mary Claire takes the lead...

...with the team following close behind... They seem to be missing their sled?

..OOPS...Dead end!!

...because the track digger is dead tired.

I needed to take a break..
Oh.. and to sit down and laugh my pants off.
I don't know why seeing their combs bobbing down the lanes cracked me up.

FYI
The weather forecast is calling for another 6-10 inches of snow today.
HOLY COW!

Love the Coop-de-Igloo. With the winter olympics coming soon, these girls had better get out and practice more! Go Mary Claire go!

You crack me up! I am going to have to fly there and dig you out! Good thing for all those garden goods you have stashed away.

For a minute there, I was expecting to see Rhode Islands in spandex, a la Jamaican Bobsled Team. Did they make a tight corner? Apparently, that's key...

I'm going to be chuckling all day about this.

Does all this snow mean you don't need to go to work?

I'm glad I found your blog! That was sooo funny! I wish we had chickens. We got some chicks once that all turned out to be roosters and we haven't tried it since--I want them--my husband doesn't. Husband won. We're getting 20 more inches of snow in addition to 30 we just got--looks like yours.

ha! love the combs bobbing.

I am so envious of the snow you all have there! We may have mountains but winter in the mountains is waaaaay more fun with some good dumps.

That was so cute! I think their little combs bobbing is funny, too! Our chickens (and goats) are so scared of snow it's hilarious! We don't have enough for a luge, though. Bummer!
