My husband found this picture of me in his desk this morning. When he brought it in to the kitchen he said.. "Look.. You've been a fan of Bench Monday since you were a kid."
Finally got around to tossing in a bit of Chard in the cold frames. I found it at Whole Foods a few weeks ago. Couldn't resist trying it after reading about the Five Color Silverbeet in the book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle.
The carrots buried under the leaf stacks are doing great. I love going out to dig a fresh carrot for a snack or a salad. A bit of fresh picked lettuce for our dinner last night. So much better than the summer lettuce. Must be the cooler weather!
I am not so much of a morning person.
This would be what I call the Hula Hoop scarf. A lesson learned in how NOT to "gauge" a circular scarf pattern. Took this baby off the circular needles and I swear it could be a hula hoop cover! Gave up after about six loop around my neck.. I like the yarn (called beeswax, although I think it looks a bit more like corn-off-the-cob), so I may take it apart and start over. 
When he saw us watching him, looks could kill. No chicken salad for you today mister. I am leaving the ladies in! I think he is a Sharp-Shinned Hawk? He took off shortly after he learned his lunch plans were spoiled.
