We are coffee drinkers. Big coffee drinkers.
My dishcloths are a mess because of it. Sorry looking, always soaking in the laundry bucket, full of stains, bleached out patches of pathetic rags. A family friend gave my mom a couple of lovely knitted dishcloths a few months ago. I looked up a pattern on Ravelry and fell in love with this one:
Extremely easy and fast to knit. Perfect for evening knitting by the fire while watching a movie. I chose a few different colored cotton yarns in shades of BROWN to help hide the coffee stains!!
I am still trying to finish up a few Christmas gifts. Thought I'd post this as there won't be dishcloths heading out with Santa this year. Hoping to get the knitted gifts I've started done to avoid "Christmas in July"... which has been known to happen around here! One week until Christmas and I still don't have the tree up. Maybe tonight? Happy Friday to you..

I love the colors. I am trying to learn to knit but I don't seem to be very coordinated when it comes to this craft. Beautiful clothes though :)

Knitting a dish rag was the one and only knitting project I EVER finished. Since my oldest daughter is giving her two younger sisters some knitting supplies for Christmas, we may very well start with this project again - since it is the only thing mom knows how to knit!
These are lovely...really like the colors and nice touch with corners. Leigh you are knitting up a storm...very inspiring. Jules knits these up like no tomorrow...I get new "fresh" ones each Christmas.
These are great! And brown?! So smart! So um...why don't you live next door so you can teach me to knit? Hmmm? I really want to learn...and when I see these amazing and useful items that can be made...well, my envy bubbles up!
As far as trees...we just put ours up two nights ago. And the best part? I bought a tabletop FAKE tree...PRE-LIT...and called it Tannenbaum. We've never had a fake tree...ever. Let alone a small tree! What can I say? The price was right...and so was the size given we have one week until Christmas. My boys are less than enthused...but they'll live. Seth says it reminds him of "old people"!! LOL!
Anyway...I thought it would be cute for next year...when we're hopefully in a bigger home...and I can have a big family tree..and the little faux tree can be in the kitchen or something. Cute...
OK...I'm rambling. Can you tell I miss you!??
Brilliant! BROWN dish towels...knitted by you! I love this idea. It would solve our coffee-stain problems too...except for the teeth issues. (Yuck.)
Now get that tree up and pour yourself a hot drink while you watch the lights. I want to know you're in front of the fire with your knitting.

Those dishcloths (or facecloths) are wonderful to knit - it's fast and you can whip one up in no time! Your colors are warm and fuzzy. Nice to wrap with some body scents.....will be well received. OR whatever..... Keep smiling! It shows in your work!
You are too cute, the knitting is taking priority over the tree....I am glad you are enjoying this hobby so much! The tree will make it eventually...and if it doesn't? Oh well, right?!?
Those will hide the coffee stains alright, if only all my clothing could be those colors. :)
that's the same pattern i use for our dishcloths. it's holding up well too!
the brown is a great idea and so pretty. but those multi colors help to hide the bleached out spots : )

Perfect timing, after reading how J-cloths are full of microban, I'm ready to say good bye to quick dry cloths, I might have to give this a try in front of the fire!
