Sun!
What was that? Sun? Hooray!
Forgive me. Really. I just needed some sun today.
So did the bees.. who were quite busy and happy to be out.
So did the chicks - who were also happy to have a long run in the yard while I changed out the sand in the coop. This is our little A-Frame Woodland Coop. Forgive us. We had no idea what we were doing. The chickens were coming and they needed a coop. The run detaches and can be pulled around the yard (wheels at another time...) and the top comes off the base, if we would need to move it. Built it out of left over garage lumber. Painted the tar paper green so it would blend in.. maybe? Mission control to pine tree..
Voila! The back opens.. to get the eggs... and scoop. There is door on the bottom below where I can put in the food and water.
Fannie was worried I was messing with her nest. Decided she'd better keep an eye on me.Just in case...

I LoVE your chicken coop...how awesome is that? I bet you have some happy ladies living there in style...I also like the concept of how the run can detach.There are just so many cool ideas for coops. One idea that I really like is one out of England that is called "Omlette" that is pretty mobile.
Fannie is so cute, you got me thinking....
...and there is no better elixer than the sun...soak up those glorious rays,sure helps lift the mood.

What's to forgive? That is a fabulous coop!! Have you seen ours? Talk about using leftovers...yikes. We were on a TIGHT budget.

Loved seeing your hives there in the fall trees! I've been looking at mine in the garage thinking I need to get it painted so it is ready come spring and hopefully a shipment of bees this time! And you're coop is great! Looks comfy for your girls and I personally love the green color!

We had sun and 77 yesterday - Hip Hip Hooray! No more though. Rain is coming back today and temps are gonna take a nose-dive. Ugh!

I like your coop too! I wish I had known more about chickens when I designed our two coops. My girls are happy as anything, and very healthy....but I just know I would have done a few things differently. Great post, great blog!
