I've been waiting for this magazine to come out! Enjoying it so far and savoring the read. There is a lovely article about 'Beekeeping in the Burbs' written by Susan Brackney. She is the author of Plan Bee: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About the Hardest-working Creatures on the Planet. Other fun features: Chicks & Goats in the city, getting rid of your lawn, and how to not be daunted by trying to preserve your harvest. Happy reading!

So do share, how are we not to be daunted?!?
Ooh interesting! I wonder if B&N have it?
That looks good...I'll lok for this. I read "hobby farm" which I luuurv.
Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog...
-and if you ever want to learn to knit I am right here.
It looks like a great magazine. I just wish it were more sustainable...(e.g. digital). I hate seeing an old stack of magazines and feeling guilty about all the trees.
I am liking that magazine. It sounds like it may be better than Mother Earth News for us city farmers. Where did you find it? I'll make room in my budget to get it : )
We are living rural right now but I think it is a wonderful magazine to spur on the many urban farmers/gardeners! And Bee girl, I think you should submit something to this magazine as you are living it and share through photos and words in such a lovely way!
Looks right up my alley! I subscribe to Mother Earth News and love it...I wonder if this one is as informative?
oh-no,oh-no,oh-no,oh-no,oh-no,oh-no,oh-no
this would truly put the nail in my coffin for the five-year homestead plan.
egads!
and yes,I agree with gardenmama, tell us when your profile goes in!!!!
Thanks for posting about this! I can't wait to read it!
xxo,
K
just thinking how appropriate the title of the beekeeping article is for you...
i need to find a copy of this! i've been egging my husband on about getting rid of our lawn all summer.
Totally off topic, but have you been happy with the flavor of your Katahdin and Red Pontiac Potatoes? I am trying to narrow down next year's potato wish list, any thoughts would be appreciated!
(We are mashed and oven-roasted potato people, occasionally soup)
Looks like a great read! I'm wondering too where to get my hands on a copy of this newest issue?
Do you subscribe to Mother Earth News as well? We really enjoy that one as well.
Thank-you for the potato info, you are the best!!- I sent you a reply but my computer went funny and I am not sure if it made it.
I hadn't heard of this publication before. I can't wait to read it! I may be out in the country, but it sounds like there is plenty to glean from it.
I ditto everything Garden Mama said!!!
Hey, you! You SHOULD be writing for the magazine for sure--or publishing one of your own.
Just to let you know...I didn't get the beet e-mail. You spurred us to discover, in fact, that we have not been getting our mail since April. Silly me. Should've noticed that. Birch has fixed us up. So if you want to forward it, I'd love that! Thanks...
