So remember that adorable little cherry tomato picture I posted the other day? I should have chewed it very slowly as it was the only tomato we'll be getting from the garden this year.
It started out innocently enough. Lots of rain, a few yellow leaves here and there.
Then came the spots. I knew it wasn't good.
Then the leaves went in a matter of one or two days. The green fruit was turning bad on the plants. They were gonners. I am thinking it is the dreaded late blight.
Taking no chances - all the plants were pulled, bagged, and set in the lower yard to prepare for disposal. I am sick about it. It's been a few days (and I have to admit a few tears later) and I am thinking it has spread to the potatoes. We are digging them up now as fast as we can.
