It was hazy, hot, and humid here today. I wasn't surprised to find the girls hanging out front on the hives to cool off this evening. They evaporate water to cool the hive and have been hitting their water dish pretty hard today too. 
Dora's veranda was packed and she had a nice group hanging off the front.
While zooming in a little closer in Photoshop, I found this little gal - arms up - as if to say... hey - here- CHEESE!!!
On that note, I wonder if I can check for mites using Photoshop... Hmmmm....

Bees are so amazing...
And as far as that egg? I thought I would hard boil it and cut it into fourths! But now we have TWO eggs! So...I can just cut them in half. OR, I can add them to some zucchini muffins and REALLY do it up right!

Love the photos, especially the gal that's hangin out with her arms up! How cute is that? I showed these pics to my youngest...I think she was a bit freaked out to think that someone would have this many bees by choice. Not sure she gets it. I'm going to find your post about harvesting the honey. That should put it in perspective.

VERY interesting. My bees have not gone that far yet. It has been cool here, and when it warms up.. get the heck out of their way. They are feeling fall in the air here in MT and are in a hurry to get things done. They are quite impatient with me fiddling around with them lately.
Love it!! My bees have been washboarding much lately with the heat. So interesting to sit outside in the evening and hear the combined effort of so many little wings.
