We've been holding our breath, hoping we'd get some corn this year. It looks like it just may happen! I can remember my parents planting it when I was little, but we haven't done it for years. This year Dad said - We're trying corn!
I accidently knocked over a stock weeding last week and the corn was small, but was looking good. It's gotten quite tall for basically growing in the woods!
As I was sitting out by the camp fire last week I was sure I saw a bat go zipping by. Sure enough, this little lady has taken up residence in the picnic shelter. Glad to see "Stellaluna!"Snuck in to try and catch a photo of her while she was napping. Afraid I caught her watching me with one eye open! Who can blame her? I wouldn't want my picture taken while I was sleeping upside down either!

Perfect title! Bats eat so many mosquitoes that I would love to entice them to stay in my yard. Stella looks pretty happy with her spot.
Well I thought your title was fabulous right off the 'bat' and the fact that you have a resident bat makes it even better! ; )
personally, the bat would have freaked me out. you are so brave to take Stella's picture.
Hello Stella.
-showed her to my kids...they loved it!
I love this post, not surprisingly because I love bats! I had the pleasure of meeting a fruit bat once in Bali and it was enormous and beautiful - there's a photo of her above my desk! Enjoy the corn, and your weekend. xo, k
I'm not so sure I would've been able to get close to Stellaluna - but they sure are bug-eating machines! Great photo. Thanks for pointing out what's what...
Happy Weekend, friend!

Stellaluna is adorable...I think bats are really cute.
Wow, you're so lucky! Bats are pretty rare over here, and your corn is about twice as tall as mine - I'm extremely envious! Flo :-)
We have 2 bats that have taken up residence in our neighborhood. Lawman and I enjoy sitting on the deck just before dark to see if we can catch a glimps of them flying through the air.
