The potatoes are blooming.

They are actually getting quite tall. This was taken before the rain beat them down. Row of beans in the foreground, potatoes in the back.

We had horrible issues with weeds last year, so this year we are trying some garden cloth on the potato hills.

It was interesting to see that the bumbles were in the potato blooms. This little guy was really loaded down with pollen.
It almost looked like he had his pockets full of mashed potatoes!

It's wonderful to see everything in such bloom and busy-ness in your garden! Wow!
Beautiful!
I'm learning so much about gardening my visiting here. I am thinking potatoes next year - when exactly do you plant potatoes - oh, I guess it would be different for me - way out here.
the other day I was watching a bee on our raspberries. I specifically looked for the pollen pockets - thanks to you : )
I think potato blossoms are particularly pretty - I've just never noticed it much before. Another thing I've just noticed this year - on my red potato plants, the center is red; on my Kennebecs and russets, the center is yellow. Things that make you go hmmmmmm....
Lovely, lovely, lovely...the potato blossoms resemble eggplant blossoms. I love the bumble bee...how cute and busy is he?!

Only recently I learnt that potato flowers are beautiful. Yours are as beautiful as they can be! Lovely. The bee is working hard. The nectar will end up at your beehive later he he...
Your garden looks so beautiful ~ green & lush. As a kid, harvesting the potatoes was my absolute favorite job in the garden with my mother. It was like digging for buried treasure. Such wonderful memories. I'd love to grow potatoes again someday.
Look at that busy little bee!
I love the title of your post so much : )
