for zucchini's that is!
I thought I'd give saving seeds a whirl so I let one zucchini go...
It only weighs EIGHT pounds.

A friend just sent a recipe for zucchini latkes if you want it! It uses, oh wait - only 2 pounds!
that is fantastic!! Ours are just starting to grow - tons of flowers, but the courgettes are taking their time! :)
I think I'm one of the only people that can't grow zucchini. I have 4 plants for 2 of us, and I've only harvested 2 zukes so far. My other plants look like they're going to start producing though, so I should be able to eat them for every meal here pretty soon.

Wow! That's some zucchini! I hear that in some communities people lock their car doors this time of year--not to prevent theives, but to keep neighbors from dropping off extra summer squash.
Great gadzooks! A friend told me he wished he could plant half a zucchini seed; the harvest would be just about right.
Woe is us, though. The only thing eating zucchini at our place this season has been the slugs eating the zucchini sprouts. Thus, ours are just now heading into flower. At least they grow zippity once they get started.

thats a monster!! we ate courgette flowers at the weekend, italian style, stuffed with ricotta and mint and deep fried in batter.. absolutely incredibly yummy!!
Just so you know, that zuc weighs about 3 pounds more then Avery did when we left the hospital. that is a big vegetable!

Zuchini, shredded and frozen, makes fine zuchini bread later. You can also make the extra bread right away, then freeze the extra loaves. That takes a bit more freezer space, though.
we are in zucchini overload here too! but none that big. wowza!
it's that time of year when there are rumors that if you leave your car door unlocked, you will find piles of zucchini in it when you get back.
I have not seen such a big zucchini before ;-D I hope you will find a good pickle recipe for those beautiful cucumber soon!
My Mom puts zucchini in everything she cooks. We gave up asking, "Mom is there zucchini in this?" because we knew what the answer would be :)
