Tilling

Dad on the tractor.

The ground is wet here.  Really wet.  We were lucky to get the garden tilled under once before the rain came.  They are calling for more rain, so it will be a while before we can get in again to till before we plant.  We usually wait until after Mother's Day to put the garden in, as not to risk frost.  Still working on my garden map, but the seed potatoes have been purchased!  Can't wait to get everything in!!   I look at my seed packets on the kitchen table everyday and think..soon...very soon!!

I hope you could finish your garden map soon :-) and the rain won't be in the way. Happy gardening!

Lots of rain here too in Massachusetts and I've got seeds to plant too. Today the sun poked out for a brief bit. I think we are all in the same boat. You have a really nice blog! I'll visit often! --Jackie

I have a container garden, and usually wait till at least Mother's Day, too. I think I'm going to wait an additional week for good measure this year. Happy blogging!

I am wondering about doing potatoes. I saw some seed potato packets at the ranch supply store when I was picking up the chicks yesterday. I hear they take a lot of space though. Hmmm... we'll see!

We're waterlogged, too, and I have clay soil. I never plan to prep soil in spring here because we're usually too wet...and to plant seeds, I make a furrow and cover the seeds with vermiculite instead of soil. This is only affordable because my garden is so small! I am hopelessly behind this year! Working way too much!
