I Brake for..

Who doesn't love a good greenhouse?

Ran to our local greenhouse this week and picked up my summer veggie plants.  Zucchini, tomato, sweet potato, and red pepper plants.  We had such good luck with their plants last year I thought I'd try them again.  The only exception was the sweet potatoes.  The ground hog ate the plants off twice!  Goal for next year:  start more plants myself.  Saving seeds isn't something I've tried before either.  I'd like to learn how to do that this year too.

Planning another trip to the greenhouse to purchase some bee friendly perennials.  Next time I am taking a list!

You made me smile. My husband doesn't get it, but he's only the financier, not the gardener. :) Thanks.~~Dee

we tried seeds this year, but do to the CRAZY rain, rain, rain, they died on the table before we could put them in.

the herbs made it though and i put them in the ground today.

thank goodness for our greenhouse market to give me nice sturdy veg to get in the ground now our irregular monsoon season has ended.

Regarding bee-friendly plants... recently at a Master Gardener training class, a beekeeper encouraged us to plant summer-blooming trees because after the spring flush (on the East Coast), there is very little nectar for bees. One tree he mentioned was golden rain tree, but there were others.
