Girl on Top of The World

Honeybee on Allium.

I decided to post this picture instead of the one I was going to post.  It's prettier.  Found my first egg without a shell today.  Actually...several.  I was warned this could happen, but I wasn't prepared to find it today before I had my coffee!  We are feeding the ladies calcium supplements with their feed.  After cleaning the mess up in the coop I came back in and did some Googling.  Sounds like this can happen when the chickens start to lay eggs.  Maybe the rest of the girls are getting ready to join in the fun?

The picture is very nice. Surely the bee is on top of the world like the chickens :-) The shell probably need time to develop. Good to have google nowaday. We can find everything and anything. Today I just found out the plant name for one plant that is in my garden for a long time already. I was so happy and also nice to see your comment in my blog. TQ! Have a wonderful day!

Ugh! There you go - popping my bubble fantasy of the Mistress strolling out to the chicken coup (or as Martha's was named, The Palais de Poulets) with a spotless straw basket, lined with a lovely white linen napkin, to pick out lovely fresh eggs from the pristine nests as the girls scratch and cluck in the yard.

Do not fret friend. If that's the worse thing you find in your coop, you're doing pretty darn good... (Have you tried oyster shell? It has worked well for the First Ladies...)
